ACCOMMODATION

We offer a various range of accommodation you can choose from. The most preferred and most affordable option for school groups is with a host family however depending on age or whether you prefer more freedom we would recommend accommodation in residential, hostels or hotels.

Homestay

We pride ourselves in offering a large network of quality homestay accommodation across the UK with a placement  of 2, 3 or 4 students per family . Host families are carefully selected by our Local Organisers and families’ homes must comply with specific regulations.

Host Family accommodation is the favoured accommodation in terms of educational trips as it combines first-hand experience at a cheap rate and includes,  many interesting criteria’s such as:

  • Inspiring a sense of security: being with a host family is reassuring for both students and their parents as it provides a home away from home. Some students become friends with their host family and keep in touch with them after the trip.
  • Improving your English: apply what you have learnt at school and learn new words related to family life. Being immersed in an English family pushes the guest/student to speak up and gives the opportunity for the shy ones to open up. English people are very patient and host families are happy to help or correct students with their grammar.
  • Cultural experiences: learn how greeting people, sharing a meal, saying good night, hobbies and ideas differ from home.
  • Value for money: There is no other accommodation that can provide a full board accommodation at such a low price. This worry-free choice includes bed & breakfast, a packed lunch and a hot dinner as well as a cleaning option (for longer stays).

Monali Travel appreciates that most school groups travel on a budget and this is why we apply unbeatable rates without compromising on the quality!

Hostels

Hostels are a much cheaper alternative to hotels. They are generally centrally located and have a friendly atmosphere. They give you more freedom compared to host family accommodation as they are unlikely to have a curfew, except the one imposed by the Group Leader.

Staying in a hostel allows everyone to share large rooms. This can be a lot of fun, especially when you plan a group vacation as it eliminates the arguments over who shares rooms.

It also encourages you to meet and socialise with people from all over the world through a common area.

We have a partnership with various hostels in London and around the UK and we like to ensure that the hostel is of quality and places at least 1 leader on the same floor as the students if they are under 18 years old.

Residences

Self-catering residences are good value for money and give you the independence and freedom to come and go as you wish and not have to worry about letting a host family know that you are going to be late.

Ideal for groups that have a programme that requires lots of flexibility and who just want to be left alone to enjoy their holiday together.

They are a great way to socialise and make new friends as hostels are frequented by youth from all over the world.

And you usually get Wi-Fi for free!

Hotels

Hotel accommodation may be the most expensive accommodation but is the only option that offers privacy and also you are less likely to experience changes on arrival.

You share bathrooms with fewer people, you don’t have to deal with loud, nocturnal party folks and rooms are regularly cleaned.

Ideal for older students and adults.

Bed & Breakfast  Guesthouses

Bed and Breakfast or guesthouses are usually used for the driver or the teachers who prefer not to stay with host families and want to be more independent.

Whenever possible and for logistical reasons, we carefully choose B&Bs and guesthouses that are the closest to the group coach park. This will provide enough time for the driver to have breakfast and start the day.
